How to use Public-DNS-Server

In this area you can find some tips to setup our ORSN Public-DNS-Servers. Currently this support area is under construction. Please help us to complete this how-to!

Here can you find all available nameservers: aufgeführt.

The following router devices are not configurable for ORSN:

Telekom Speedport W 722V Typ A + B

Configuration Examples

Cisco IOS (Example)
# Call the CLI of your IOS-based Cisco Router by Telnet or SSH (better).

telnet <ip address>

User Acccess Verification

Username: <username>
Password: <password>

my.router> enable
Password: <enable password>

# To show all configured nameservers enter the following command:

my.router# show configuration | include name-server
ip name-server
ip name-server
ip name-server

my.router# configure terminal 
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.

# Remove the previous DNS server entries:

my.router(config)# no ip name-server
my.router(config)# no ip name-server
my.router(config)# no ip name-server

# With the following steps you can add two ORSN public DNS servers.
# Do not use only the first nameservers from the list.

my.router(config)# ip name-server
my.router(config)# ip name-server

# Leave the configuration level and write the settings into the NVRAM:

my.router(config)# exit
my.router# write
my.router# exit

# Example #2 for PPP-bases interfaces:

interface Virtual-Template1 / Dialer / virtual-ppp 
 keepalive 5
 compress stac
 ppp authentication ms-chap-v2 ms-chap eap chap
 ppp ipcp dns
